"Dear members of the Organization
Committee,
I was extremely disappointed to
discover that calls for session proposals were closed for the ethnobiology
Congress since July.
I discovered the call very recently,
after coming back from my field research in Amazonia, and I’d like to inform you
that we are a young team of researchers who are about to launch a program that
would certainly be of much interest for the Congress, as it is about the
transmission of territorial knowledge from old to young generation, at the
Brazil/French Guyana Border. My young and enthusiastic companions would be
extremely disappointed if they knew that I missed this unique opportunity to
expose our methodology, which is an interdisciplinary based inquiry, linking
botanic, anthropology, and geography.
Would you be kind enough to inform
me if an exception could be made to accept our session proposal, called “Uses and transmission of territorial knowledge in traditional communities from
the Oiapoque basin”
Thank you for your kind
attention."
